Re: Rollout of the New Space Shuttle Intrepid

(...) Yes, it is heavy, but probably not as heavy as you may think. Maybe ten pounds? The wings are generally 4 plates thick at the leading edge and become thicker inboard as the approach the fuselage and landing gear wells. I used 90 wing elements (...)   Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update! 1/12/01

(...) It's just not fare! You have so many more pieces than me...as does most everyone else that posts on Brickbay. Ball joints? Sure, I've got two or three of those. 1x3 left and right angle wedges? purty darn near a pair in every color except (...) I did send a message about this yesterday to cad.dat.models as a reply to an old thread by Jeremy Sproat, and I've now realised that in news readers like Outlook Express the message is attached to that original one and may not be visible in the list (...) (...) Thanks! I recommend watching the anime Cowboy Bebop. Aside from being a good show, there are some really interesting spaceship designs. Bounty hunters in space. How cool :^) (...) Thanks.   Re: Mark's Lego Creations Update! 1/12/01

Once again Mark you've done a wonderful job. You always turn out the coolest stuff. I especially like the ships you've done that have used those saucer shapes, very ingenious use of parts. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Me first Mech

Wow praise from The Man himself. Thanks Mark. Indeed that is the head from the Helldog. I was in dire need of a head for this thing, I basically had the rest figured out when I saw the Helldog (personally one of my favorite mechs out there). I kept (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Me first Mech

(...) <snip> That's a swell mecha for a first try. I can see the influence of Colin's leg designs, and I see you used the head design from my Helldog. It looks good in green. I like the arm cannons. :^) ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

  Me first Mech

After looking at everybody's wonderful mech designs over the last year or so I've finally managed to build my first mech. It can be seen here: (URL) isn't much there right now, I hope to add descriptive text over the weekend, and possibly more (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Technic C3PO/Stormtrooper - better mecha parts?

(...) That depends on if you like white technic pieces better than black. Personally, I try to avoid using white elements in mecha because white just isn't a very stealthy color. On the other hand, black doesn't photograph well so I use gray and (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Technic C3PO/Stormtrooper - better mecha parts?

Re: Technic C3PO/Stormtrooper - better mecha parts?

(...) How about the rest of the pieces in there, though? Are the ones in the ST markedly better for mecha building? I hear that most of the 3PO parts are actually black... Also, how 'strong' are the ball joints - how much pressure do they take to (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Technic C3PO/Stormtrooper - better mecha parts?

(...) The C3-PO has the most ball joints- a total of 5, compared to the S.T.'s 4. and yes, they are cool for mecha. I've built one this week with them and I'll post pics soon. Later, Todd (URL) (24 years ago, 12-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.starwars)

A REAL challenge for mecha builders

This is a tough one: make a good "big" version of Millenia/Millenium using only the parts given and maybe a couple other rods/pins/connectors. I myself made a better one than TLC, but I still liked the bike better so I dismantled mine and built the (...) (24 years ago, 12-Jan-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
