Alright folks, I'm ready to get down with some basic talk.  Any of you • have
a favorite set?  I can't think of mine at the moment but I'm going to go
browse the database in a bit and try to dig up the name and number of some
of my childhood favorites.

I also think I'll make a MOC or 2 while I'm here.  I was thinking • something
simple (like a small animal) and then something more complex like the more
advance Basic stuff.

Thoughts?

Hmm ... one of my Basic favorites is 725 -
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/725_1.  This set has a great selection of parts.
I have managed to pick up two of them over the years.

There is a whole series of sets in the line of Basic Building Sets that
would make wonder Legends or Classic releases.

715 - http://guide.lugnet.com/set/715
720 - http://guide.lugnet.com/set/720_1 (white sliding train doors)
722 - http://guide.lugnet.com/set/722_1
725 - http://guide.lugnet.com/set/725_1
735 - http://guide.lugnet.com/set/735 (this is a really good one)
740 - http://guide.lugnet.com/set/740_1 (what train builder wouldn't want
this one?)

All of these sets have a nice collection of parts a number of nice models
that can built from them.  It looks like some of the new Creator sets are
headed back in this direction but roof elements and doors and windows still
remain elusive.
