I was trying to post it in the announce.moc group but for some reason it
won't let me post there. I meant to just post a simple test message but
since I had already written all this out, I just posted it to off-topic.test
anyway, thinking it wouldn't be posted there either. I've been trying to
post it to the appropriate groups but I am still not able to, despite having
gotten the "setup results" email from Lugnet saying that the server is ready
to accept my posts.  Anyway, thanks a bunch for cross-posting to .general;
I've been itching to get some feedback!

I'm glad you like the Manta; that's actually my favorite one so far, even
though I didn't own the toy. There's supposed to be small wings in the front
as well, but I ran out of room for any more built-in mechanics. I'm going to
try to redesign the back wings to try and make room for the front wings, but
it's probably not going to work. I may just try to figure out a way to just
connect them seperately.

At the moment, I'm trying to figure out what vehicle to do next...I really
want to do the Hurricane, a '57 chevy, but it's a complex vehicle especially
with the mechanics that it would need to turn it into its attack mode.

As a child, I have watched the series quite a few times, and I liked it a
lot. My cousins had the Manta you rendered so cunningly in Lego. It was one
of my favourite toys when I went there (after their Lego, of course), and I
know it quite well. I even remember trying to fit wings under some of my own
Lego vehicles when I was young... but that didn't work out well with 4-studs
wide cars.

Well done, a great way to crash into LUGnet!

Yours enthusiastically,

Stefan.

Howdy all!

This is my first post on Lugnet...and these are my first building • projects!
Anyhoo, when I was a young lad, I built a 4-wide minifig-scale tractor rig
based on the Rhino--a tractor rig from the M.A.S.K. toyline (check this • link
if you don't know what M.A.S.K. is:
http://www.albertpenello.com/mask/toys.html). It had a working battering • ram
(i think) and it had the rocket in the back but that was pretty much it. • It
is now some 15 or so years later and I've decided to make a better, more
accurate version of one of my favorite MOC's from my childhood.

And so the Rhino was my first project, and it turned out decent IMO. I'm
pretty sure some things could be done better, but I'm quite new at • figuring
out how to do certain things with lego's. My second project was the Gator,
an off-road jeep that had an attack boat hidden inside it. My most recent
project was the Manta, a Nissan 300ZX that turns into an attack plane.

Here's the link to my galleries on Brickshelf:

With all these MASK vehicles, the toughest part has been figuring out all
the mechanics and the best way to implement them. So please take a look • and
let me know what you think! I'd especially like to hear from those who
played with MASK toys as a child or watched the cartoon.
