Hi all,

After 3 freelance jobs, one sci-fi convention, and a boatload of stuff that
just took up my time, I built my pod. Not just any pod, mind you, but a pod
from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

The arms move, and the back opens up. Also, the rear hatch opens, though not
accurately...couldn't figure that one out.

Here are some deep links...

More pics can be found by changing the pod number on the above tags. There are
7 pics total.

and the folder to open when it's moderated:

LMKWYT!

Thanks!

Joe Meno

Very movie accurate Joe. The EVA was the original inspiration for mine as well! Cheers, -G (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

In lugnet.announce.moc, Joe Meno writes: <snippety do da> (...) OooOOo, I missed this one. That looks awesome - this pod is awesome. As I stated in another post, I don't really like the look of "thicker" pods, but this one's so thick that it's just (...) (22 years ago, 8-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)

This is Awesome. I expect 2 more pods, and then you can fit them into a scale model of the Discovery itself. :) Anyway, nicely done. I wouldn't worry about the rear hatch. I think it slides into the ship horizontally, and I can't think how you could (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.space)
