New MOC: Y-59 Albatross —Bram Lambrecht
Those of you who came to BrickFest have seen this already, but you probably haven't seen it in all its configurations. I came up with the idea for the Albatross on a hike on vacation. Climbing mountains leaves plenty of time for the mind to wander. (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jul-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space, lugnet.build) !

(...) Wow, Wow, Wow! This is a superb MOC! The landing gear, the retractable wings, the cocpit-these things make this a great MOC! COOL!!! -JHK (22 years ago, 28-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Y-59 Albatross —Alex Cruz
(...) Very nice work, Bram. I've always enjoyed spaceships that can fold and bend when landing/taking off. I can see where your landing gears might slip on smooth surfaces. And the cockpit reminds me of the Minbari fighters from Babylon 5. I always (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Y-59 Albatross —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Me too :) Glad you liked it. (...) Perhaps it's more comfortable and less tiring on the legs. I suppose it could distribute the G forces more evenly. Gotta make sure the pilot doesn't fall asleep, though. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Y-59 Albatross —Kenn Oldham
Hi. Personally, I really like the shape of the upper wings, and the use of the rounded fences as wing struts is clever. The profile that the bent wings give the ship gets when it lands is very cool. - Kenn (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Y-59 Albatross —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Thanks! The struts are a perfect example of necessity being the mothe of invention. I didn't use any originally, but then the click hinges weren't enough to hold the fixed part of the upper wings in place. I think the bending of the wings (...)         Re: New MOC: Y-59 Albatross —Alexander Zwagerman
This is a cool ship. It looks like it has great flexibility, yet it doesn't look like it will fall apart, like many of my more flexible creations... Alexander (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space)
