I finally rewrote the recent function in the gallery. The page now comes up at least 1000% faster. It should be most noticable on a fast (cable,dsl) connection. If anyone is interested in what I did, FUT l.o-t.geek KL (24 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.announce.brickshelf)

I am pleased to announce a new version of the BrickShelf Gallery software is now online. Most of the changes in this update were internal, to support easy configuration of colors, URL's and other site specific items. Other Changes include: - Color (...) When I login, I can view my top level folder, but when I clcik one of sub folder, I was logouted and need to be login again, this will be repeated, so I can view any sub folders. Then in another PC, when I upload a small pciture, after long time, I (...) (25 years ago, 29-Oct-01, to lugnet.announce.brickshelf) !

I have changed the login state cookie on brickshelf to be persistant for 1-2 hours. That time is reset each time you view a gallery page. Over the past week I have been slowly migrating Brickshelf from one server to three much more capable servers. The files have been moved to a SUN E450 with 1/2 TB raid, the database (mysql) has been moved to another E450 with 2G of ram. The next (...) (25 years ago, 2-Oct-01, to lugnet.announce.brickshelf) !

Along with my office and other servers, Brickshelf was moved to it's new home today at Minerva Networks in Chantilly, VA. The Brickshelf gallery now contains over 50,000 pictures uploaded by LEGO fans. The Gallery started as a place for me to upload pictures of the Mindfest(tm) event, and some MOC's.
