    Colosseum —Brendan Powell Smith
Hi. I built a LEGO Colosseum this weekend. Have a look and let me know what you think. (URL) Rev. Brendan Powell Smith @8-) PS: I also just uploaded the Miniature Skyline that I put together a week or so ago, so take a peek at that, too, if you're (...)         Re: Colosseum —Rick Kujawa
Glad to see another non 90 degree curved creation. Nice colosseum, looks very pleasing. I like all the spectators. Which one is Maximus? (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

        Re: Colosseum —George Haberberger
(...) Wow, that's great, a real slice of Roman life. It looks like you got all the big animals, too. I didn't see any small ones, but throwing Timmy to the scorpions doesn't sound as menacing. George (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

        Re: Colosseum —Kevin McMillin
(...) Very nice, Brendan. I really like the way you did the top of the Colosseum, (all those black 1 x 6 arches - I mostly collect town - I might have six or seven of those) as well as the special box for the king and queen. (or Julius Caesar and (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

        Re: Colosseum —Brendan Powell Smith
Hi, guys. Thanks for the comments. It's much appreciated. George, do you have any special requests for small animal match-ups? I do have Jar-Jar vs. a gladiator with an axe, but I could go smaller. We could have, say, a stick-weilding monkey vs. a (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

         Re: Colosseum —Shiri Dori
<snippy snippy> (...) Popular? Depends on who you ask. Me and the Sproats seem to love it. :-) A lot of people like it, but few people have built models to micro- or nano-fig scale. I'm digging up some links right now... Aha! Jeremy's ships: (URL) (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.build)

         Re: Colosseum —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) That's really stunning! I saw the first picture long before the others loaded, so my first thought was "how many minfigs can sit in it?" and I was very surprised by the answer--a *lot*! A most excellent construction, the roundness handled very (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

(...) Tough noogies, John. ;-) <yawn> Give it up. ;-) -Shiri (BTW, .castle is only 2000 posts behind .trains now, and all those e-ville debates, as much as I detest them, are bringing the count up ;-) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

        Re: Colosseum —Brendan Powell Smith
(...) I read this and wondered "what's a Sproat?", so I checked your LEGO Acronym FAQ, but no dice. Then I figured it out on my own. @8-) (...) I really appreciate these links. There's some great, great stuff here. I'd never seen Jeremy & Barbara's (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.build)

        Re: Colosseum —Brendan Powell Smith
Hi, again. I've uploaded a few new pics to the same Brickshelf page: (URL) a few monkeys into the mix, made the polar bear hungrier, put a cat up against a black dragon, and even "flooded" the colosseum for a sea battle. The new pics are: (URL) I (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

         Re: Colosseum —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) It's so much better than the Belville rabbit. :) The pose especially--I knew it was coming, but that third picture almost killed me with laughter. And I don't even *own* a cat! best LFB (23 years ago, 13-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

        Re: Colosseum —Harvey Henkelman
(...) Brilliant! I was just watching a show on the colosseum on the History Channel last night, that thing could seat 80,000 people! How many minifigs does your version seat? -Harvey (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.build.ancient)

         Re: Colosseum —Brendan Powell Smith
(...) 80,000 people - what a coicidence, that's exactly how many minifigs I managed to squeeze in there! OK, just kidding. @8-) I counted 'em up, and there are 216 minifigs in the stands, including the emperor's box. I could have crowded more in (...)
