Pokemon Lego sculpture —William R. Ward
I built these models a couple of months ago, but I've been dragging my feet about getting pictures on the web. However, I brought them to the BayLUG meeting this past weekend, and as a result pictures of them have made it onto the club website. To (...)         Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —Geoffrey Hyde
Not too badly done. But they seem to have come out quite blocky. I had no idea Bulbasur's body was that square. :-) Also, he should have a little red spot on the top of his flower. I'm also quite sure Pikachu's stripes on his back are the same color (...) (23 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —Adrian Drake
No, Pikachu's stripes (as well as the base of his tail) are brown. I should know, as I had been researching pictures of Pikachu for the last couple of days to do my own version of the sculpture that I would've started this weekend, had I not seen (...)           Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —William R. Ward
(...) I'm sorry to hear that. Don't let me stop you though. I picked a fairly easy posture for him - try making a sculpture of Pikachu in a more difficult pose, or something. (...) Thanks! --Bill. (23 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —William R. Ward
(...) Of course they're blocky - they're made entirely of LEGO bricks. Bulbasaur isn't quite as square in the flesh, as it were. I don't agree about the red spot - where have you seen that? See my comment below about the colors. (...) The stripes (...) (23 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —William R. Ward
(...) To clarify: I mean that the photo doesn't show his curves very well. He is actually a lot more curved than that, but the photo was not from the best angle. --Bill. (23 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —Keith Blumenthal
Nice job on those sculptures...especially on Bulbasaur's head and eyes and also the bulb. Perhaps its body needs to be a bit bigger but I won't quibble. They are better than anything I've tried. How about trying Psyduck next 8). Keith Blumenthal (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —William R. Ward
(...) Thanks! The bulb was very tricky - it's 6-lobed (though I had a hard time telling from the cartoon whether it's supposed to have 5 or 6 lobes, and took the easier choice). It used up almost all the green from 10 3033 tubs. I am also (...) (23 years ago, 5-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —William R. Ward
(...) The hard part would be the flame on the tail. I tried doing a candle in Lego as a practice piece, and wasn't too happy with the result. Flames are so dynamic that trying to model them as a static statue is very hard. Also, Lego's color scheme (...) (23 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Re: Pokemon Lego sculpture —Natalia Nazarewicz
(...) On Amazon.com they have the blue tubs for 14.99, too. (URL) only downside is you would have to pay shipping, but it's very convenient not having to leave the house. Natalia (23 years ago, 8-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)

Hey Bulbasaur looks neat! I think Pikachu is ok, but Bulbasaur blows him away! Now show me a 'Mew' :)... Mel (23 years ago, 8-Apr-01, to lugnet.build)
