Hey Greg,

Well, it turned out that there were not as many directors that wanted to
participate as I had hoped.  So, unfortunately the contest was cancelled.

However, I'm sure we will have one some time soon.  There is a lot bigger
active audience and pool of directors now.  Give it another 6 months and I'm
sure there will be another contest under way.

Your idea sounds fantastic, though.  I'd love to see it.  I think the "Based On
a True Story" theme is a great one, so I might do that one again.

Personally, I had the idea to do Hillary and Norgay's first sucessful ascent of
Everest.  I went to Nepal this year, and was really inspired.

I'm pleased to announce Brickfilms' first film contest:  "Based On A True • Story"

Jason -

I was wondering what ever happened with this contest.  Were there any
entries to it?  I actually had an idea for a submission but never had time
to bring it to life.  It took me longer than planned to finish my "set,"
which was my model of Colonial Williamsburg's Powder Magazine (pics link
below).  I had wanted to make a stop motion animation video of an even that
occurred there in Spring of 1775.  The Royal Governor had British soldiers
sneak into town late one night and remove the gun powder from the Magazine
so it couldn't be used against him.  This of course just pushed the local
colonists closer to revolution.

I still plan to make a video of this later this summer.  I used to work in
Colonial Wmbg. at the Magazine so I want to have it to send back down there
for some of my old cohorts to chuckle over.

But if the contest has been extended then I might be motivated to work on it
sooner.

So what's the latest? Has a winner already been declared?

Thanks,

G.
