I'd rather people didn't say it or any other swear word here. My kids do
indeed say it, but that doesn't mean that I approve, nor does it mean
that they don't know that it's wrong, because they do. There's no need
to hurry up the growing up process any more than we need to.
I tried not to say anything and I'm going to stick to that as much as I
can. But I do feel it shows respect to try to abide by the policy. An
occasional slip up is nothing to worry about and it's best if we don't
spin up a huge discussion about it every time it happens, but I don't
see anything wrong with a gentle reminder mailed directly to the poster
(as long as it's done in a way that is respectful, that does not imply
any special authority to be reminding, and that is polite and friendly).
Perhaps packaged with a pointer to the last time a huge discussion
happened to perhaps forestall a repeat.
That said, the above adds to the problem by prolonging the discussion,
which I acknowledge
