  Re: PLEASE fix links

As a note - my own post here via Tbird shows valid links for the first, third, fourth, and fifth URLs. So the incorrect links are most likely coming from direct web posting via Lugnet's interface. Its' engine (FTX, I'd assume) is creating invalid (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  PLEASE fix links

Can someone PLEASE fix the formatting for links in posts? While it may work for FTX, it SUCKS in SeaMonkey/Mozilla/Thunderbird. Example: I'm reading from Tbird, and a post by someone has the following link: (URL) Mirror 4,> (all on one line). (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: JLUG - Do we need a newsgroup on LUGNET?

(...) Hi Jude, (...) since it neither cause violent effort, nor will devour technical resources, I could set up a ng for JLUG. Unless anybody has substantiated counter-arguments. I will wait for a result on (URL) issue> and create both groups at (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

Re: JLUG - Do we need a newsgroup on LUGNET?

(...) I don't know why people don't go to JLUG to talk about JLUG, but there seems to be a desire to talk about JLUG here from time to time: (URL) I don't see the point of adding a Lugnet newsgroup for it. JLUG has its (...) Maybe people just like (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions) !

Re: JLUG - Do we need a newsgroup on LUGNET?

(...) So you are saying we should have a LEGOFAN.org ng here? ;-) Jude Sorry Kelly, but I could not resist. X-FUT .o-t.fun (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.off-topic.fun) !

Re: JLUG - Do we need a newsgroup on LUGNET?

(...) Why? If you want to talk about JLUG, why not do it on JLUG? I don't see the point of adding a Lugnet newsgroup for it. JLUG has its own forums, while SciBrick didn't. - Kelly (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation

(...) X-posted to .admin.suggestions to make sure Rene has a shot of seeing it. Jude (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.org, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: JLUG - Do we need a newsgroup on LUGNET?

(...) Except the discussions about SciBrick tend to be a little more heated than those about Jlug. (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions) !

Re: JLUG - Do we need a newsgroup on LUGNET?

(...) Well, it seems JLUG comes up in discussions on LUGNET more than SciBrick does... Cheers Richie Dulin (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

JLUG - Do we need a newsgroup on LUGNET?

Rene, Now that JLUG is older than 2 years, I think it would probably be safe to say that it is an international organization that is here for the long haul. Would it be worth while to have a JLUG newsgroup under .org like SciBrick has? Also, I think (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions) !

  Re: lugnet.***.brickwiki

(...) Rene, I've also passed this on to the owners of Brickwiki and suggested they come look at the thread so it may be worth waiting for their contributions. Tim (19 years ago, 15-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: lugnet.***.brickwiki

(...) I was thinking lugnet.othersites.brickwiki, but that's sort of the function of lugnet.publish. I think in-depth discussion of BW should mostly be on BW, so this group would mainly be for promotion etc. So maybe .publish isn't the right group. (...)   Re: lugnet.***.brickwiki

(...) Hmmm it's a difficult decision. I believe wikis are generally considered group publishing resources so it should probably be lugnet.publish.brickwiki. That said I'm not sure that there's much discussion about brickwiki that should be had here, (...) (19 years ago, 14-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  lugnet.***.brickwiki

Hi all, since the issue came up again together with Didier's great Advanced Building Techniques Guide: where is the best place in the newgroup hierarchy for a newsgroup .brickwiki? lugnet.publish.brickwiki was a suggestion, lugnet.build.brickwiki or (...)   Re: View FTX Source

(...) Ah OK. Yes I think a button/link would be a great addition for new FTX users. (...) Add $nnn after the URL - I use that quite a bit :) ROSCO (19 years ago, 14-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: View FTX Source

(...) While I agree it would be a good idea to add it as a link/button, you CAN already do this: (2 URLs) add the .ftx at the end of an FTX page, and you will be shown the source. I forget exactly how, but there's a way to view older revisions of (...) (19 years ago, 14-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  View FTX Source

Hi, I think it would be good to provide a "View FTX Source" button on all user-created pages and group sidebars. This would only appear for people not authorised to edit the page/sidebar, and would appear in place of the "Edit" button that the (...) (19 years ago, 14-Feb-07, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)
