Todd, you make it sound as if you think that is evil. "Never forget they're
after your money."  You are after our money too.  You aren't evil.  Maybe
they want us to play with and enjoy owning Lego bricks.  Would you prefer
they were a non-profit organization?  The curator of a Lego Museum with free
entry for all?

Lar++ would probably be very happy if each of us bought several of his
custom train sets.  In that way he, too, is "after our money".  He doesn't
have to post using a different email address or refrain from mentioning his
business in his signature.  Suppose he held a Lego Train Car design contest
(or someone held a Robot design contest) with prizes for the best entry.

Posts from Lego employees about Bionicle masks in the bionicle newsgroup

Posts from Lego employees about a Lego-sponsored Train design contest in the

If these posts harmed anyone, please explain the manner in which they harmed
you.

There's something very odd about connecting a company provided email address
with any sort of "official" company position.  Anyone who has used
newsgroups or the internet for any length of time has seen hundreds of
thousands of posts in a wide variety of contexts by people using a company
email address.  Only in extremely rare instances do these people speak in
any official capacity.  IMHO, the same situation applies here.

Any post by a Lego employee, regardless of the email address they use to
post, should be considered an unofficial "fan" posting unless the post is in
one of the .lego groups.

(...) John, I never implied or insinuated that it was evil or that there was anything wrong with it. It's simply a fact that's worth being aware of. Ah, for the good old days online back in 1994 when life as a fan was so simple, and the community (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) On the surface, yes, it sounds that way. But I doubt he meant it that way. For whatever reason, some people here need to be constantly reminded that not everyone who works for LEGO is a LEGO fan. They aren't all bringing home bricks every (...) (23 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
