Re: Reducing the level of chatter in lugnet.lego.direct

(...) Seems logical to me. Perhaps instead of an error message for a rejected message, have it automatically "bumped" to a followup group of some kind - lugnet.lego.direct.followup or something. SRC StRuCtures L#765 (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: I can't access LUGNET through nntp today

(...) Thomas, Are you using a proxy or anything like that? Behind a firewall? Any recent network configuration changes on your machine or on your LAN or your ISP? How long is the hang before it times out and gives you the error? Anyone else seeing (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

I can't access LUGNET through nntp today

I haven't been able to connect to LUGNET's nntp server today. I am using Netscape's news client and it just hangs before connecting. I have been using the news server without problems until today. Is something up at LUGNET's end? I tried setting up (...) (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) isn't it? sorry all, meant to sent the note to myself, and didn't notice that netscape defaulted to post instead of mail... now where's that ability to delete your postings... :/ FUT elsewhere... hmmm.... admin.nntp :) Dan (24 years ago, 13-Mar-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: lugnet.alphateam

(...) Hmmm good response, Todd but I was scanning the newsgroups and there is a lugnet group for the software, why not have one for the sets as well.   Re: Reducing the level of chatter in lugnet.lego.direct

(...) Basically, the lego.direct group is for communication directly with LD. But when a discussion thread springs from one of the messages there, it would be good to have a "default" place for FUT. Perhaps if you are planning on adding a filter to (...) (24 years ago, 11-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: Reducing the level of chatter in lugnet.lego.direct

(...) Hmm, I'm not following you. For what purpose? I mean, how is that better than what we have already with regular discussion groups outside of the lego.direct area? The idea is to keep the noise levels down so that LD doesn't have so much to (...) (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: Newsgroup structure: some tough decisions

(...) I really like the idea of adding .ebay, .brickbay, and .lego-direct (but call it .shop-at-home or .lsahs) categories. However instead of .swap and .swap.updates I would suggest .barter, .forsale, and .wanted. --Bill. (24 years ago, 10-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
