(...) Aya -- an explanation of what FUT and XFUT mean would really help there! BTW, I'm extremely impressed by your help center. --Todd (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Problems contacting me ?

(...) That would be very useful. I haven't figured out what the heck FUT is till about 1 year after first stumbling upon Lugnet. (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Problems contacting me ?

(...) Ya. More generally I think the idea of coming up with an icon that you can put in this place and in others that means to people "click here for help", and that links to help, is a good one. Needs to be tiny of course as real estate is tight. (24 years ago, 7-Feb-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Problems contacting me ?

(...) Hmm, I could put a sort of "what is this?" or "help" link beneath or next to the Followup-To box on the posting page...might help educate people on what the heck that funny-named field does, and have it go to /help/news/followup-to with a (...)   Dumb Question

Todd I was just wondering who suggested a newsgroup for Binghamton NY? I live here and there's been a lack of posts (that aren't mine) and was just wondering because this is a small town -- Kenneth A. Drumm Ph.D. who apologizes for the crossposts (...)   New newsgroups for LEGO Technic Slizer/ThrowBots, RoboRiders, and Bionicle

Three new subgroups of lugnet.technic have just been created -- one for each of Slizer (a.k.a. ThrowBots), RoboRiders, and Bionicle.   Re: Lego for sale

Sorry, but this is a "me too" post. I agree with the Right Hon. Mr. Wilkes PM KBE RSVP and PTO. Three groups would definitely be overkill, one group would work fine. I'm not sure whether we should be talking a subdivision of loc.uk; e.g. (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Lego for sale

(...) Hmm - placing it is a tricky issue. I don't think it needs separate auction/shopping/buy-sell-trade divisions, but if you put it as a sub-division of the existing auction/shopping/buy-sell-trade groups then that's what it would be - split. The (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Lego for sale

(...) OK, let's talk about subgroups of .market.* -- I gather you want a specific area that you can call UK-specific? I wonder how many other countries would want this? (AU and probably CA come to mind.) --Todd (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.nntp)

  Re: Help: Leading Spaces?

(...) This sounds like a modem issue. Modems have an escape character (+ by default) which if typed three times in a row will get you into command mode (where you can issue commands, like ATDT or ATZ, etc.) Most modems will only recognize the escape (...)   Re: Mecha postings

(...) OK, I'm a bit confused here. I could just as easily say "well, I'm not interested in houses at all, so they should post only to .town since there's a town newsgroup." Or apply the sentiment to anything I'm not interested in. So why would it be (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jan-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
