  eh? weird error...

I hope this one will get through.... I tried posting earlier, and this is what I found in my log: Oct 26 19:06:43 greywolf sendmail[16480]: e9QN6ge16478: to=lugnet.off-topic....ugnet.com, ctladdr=dan (501/501), delay=00:00:01, xdelay=00:00:01, (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: Are we all too nice?

(...) It amazes me that anyone thinks it's anything of difficulty. As soon as I thought about exactly how I set up Netscape to be able to post to newsgroups (Usenet or Lugnet), I realized that there is nothing to it, so no need to test it. When I (...)   Are we all too nice?

This is ultimately a CFD (call for discussion) for a new newsgroup, but also asking what I think may be an important question. It's a taboo question, so do try to keep an open mind. The question is: Are we trying to be too nice to one another? The (...) (24 years ago, 24-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.announce) !!

Re: New newsgroups for product line years

(...) hmmm.... I wonder if we could set up the year* groups to automagically take any post about sets of those years.... so any post about 8880 would be copied to year.1994... that way, the year.* would have more than just new sets talk... :) (24 years ago, 23-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: New newsgroups for product line years

(...) When cross-posting, is there any preference on whether to direct followup-to into or out-of the .year hierarchy? I'd say if a message should be cross-posted with .year.* and .elsewhere, the followup-to should go into .year.*. Generally (...) (24 years ago, 23-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: New newsgroups for product line years

Todd, Heh, I wish I was able to subscribe to lugnet.year.* in one fell swoop, not have to click on 70-some groups... (yes, even through the multi-group interface...). Or, better yet, to subscribe to lugnet.year as read only, and get all the (...) (24 years ago, 23-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

New newsgroups for product line years

A new newsgroup hierarchy for focused discussion of product line years has been created. Many thanks to Frank Filz for coming up with this idea several months ago.   TechQuestions

Hi Todd! What kind of nntp server is LUGNET running? Is it an applet of some kind that hooks on to the nntp to create those wonderfull threads in the web-interface? If it is an applet, where can i get one ;-) ? -- Joakim jocke@arjay.nu (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
