I do not agree that we have a climate where people are being chastised. I've
only really seen it happen to one person.

I think we need to be more subtle. I'm old enough to remember a phase of
LUGNET where there was too much policing by users(1) - this group was
particularly bloated as a result.

1. Poster places message in wrong group.
2. User e-mails poster
3. If it is bad enough, poster posts an apology.
4. Ends with no fuss.
