Although I know I'm replying to a rather old thread, this topic is exactly
what I was going to post about.
I'm trying to set up a disscussion server (for teachers) and was looking for
a quality program to use. I've checked out the slashdot solution and the
UBB from Infopop that were referenced above and I was wondering if there
were any other servers that you have heard of that would be appropriate.
My wife is actually the architect of this whole project and after seeing me
on the Lugnet site, she decided that she'd like a discussion site like this
one...so that's what I'm trying to do.
Todd...did you build this site yourself from the ground up? If so, do you
have any helpful tidbits that would help me create a similar site? Although
UBB did seem to be a good solution, I was hoping to find a less expensive
(and by that I mean free!) program.
If you ever decide to open up the source code for Lugnet, let me know. (Or
if you ever decide to make it available commercially, let me know also!)
Thanks,
Steven
