Re: Lugnet nominated for a webby award!

First of all, I want to say that as a member of the LUGNET community, I feel honored that the site has been nominated. It is nice to see something so many people put their time into, receiving the recognition it deserves. While some of you are (...) (23 years ago, 28-Apr-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  CLSotW Correction Requested

My LEGO related web site, The Animated Brick Company Showcase, has been on the CLSotW nominees list for several weeks now with the wrong url address. I noticed today that CLSotW has been updated but that my address is still wrong. Is it possible to (...) (23 years ago, 24-Apr-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSotW - help wanted

(...) I'd be glad to help, it seems a lot of people would. I think a good idea would be to assign someone each week to write the review, since a couple of people are willing to. -Shiri (23 years ago, 22-Apr-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSotW - help wanted

(...) Fine, fine, not trying to overcomplicate things... I'm just saying that I am interested but I need flexibility. Once in a while I have time, but most of the time I don't. I bet a lot of other helpers are in the same situation. Or maybe I'm (...) (23 years ago, 22-Apr-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Before you post annoyance

(...) Steve, When you sign in, Lugnet stores a cookie on your system. You have 3 options as to how long it stays there. My guess is last time you signed in, you chose the "until I sign out manually" option, but something (possibly unrelated) has (...) (23 years ago, 22-Apr-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSotW - help wanted

(...) OK, one step at a time here. Right now, I just want to know if someone can help with writing reviews. In the future, it would probably make sense to review a site as soon as it's on the nomination list, so that come Sunday, the review is (...)   Re: CLSotW - help wanted

(...) Yes, a commmittee of people on tap seems ideal. May I suggest that we lengthen the cycle so that there is a weeks delay between the vote and when the site is posted. That builds up a buffer of time. Now, with that buffer, work the committee (...) (23 years ago, 21-Apr-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSotW - help wanted

I would be willing to help with writing reviews. Maybe some sort of CLSotW committee or something could be organized.   CLSotW - help wanted

I could use help updating CLSotW each week. As you may have noticed, I've let it get quite behind recently, which really bothers me. The easy part each week is updating the pages...that goes pretty quick. The hard part is going through each site, (...) (23 years ago, 21-Apr-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Before you post annoyance

Hey Steve! (...) I'm guessing that the problem might be your cookies. LUGNET saves your info on cookies (scrambled IIRC). So if your cookies (on explorer or Netscape) were turned off, you'd have to "remind" the server it's still you. HTH, -Shiri (23 years ago, 21-Apr-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Before you post annoyance

Is there some sort of saved setting that I've accidentally misplaced?   Re: lugnet.robotics.combat?

(...) I have to agree with that. All three of the TV shows currently all the rage which purportedly feature robotic combat, ACTUALLY feature combat by machines controlled remotely by human operators. That is downplayed in the shows, of course. So (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: lugnet.robotics.combat?

(...) The *vast* majority of combat "robots" which I have seen on the net, LEGO-based or otherwise, are not autonomous. (...) Extremely impressive engineering does not necessarily make a device a robot. (...) Of course if it's autonomous and (...) (23 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.admin.general)
