Is something updating the aliases.db file before sendmail starts up,
like /usr/lib/sendmail -bi or makemap? Is it possible that one of
these is older and using a different format than your regular sendmail
daemon? I was recently bitten by an app that was trying to do Berkeley
DB 1.85 on a 2.x dbm file which, of course, failed because of the file
format changes.
