Well there hasn't been a group to put them - I put mine (as well as other
people) in a local group because there isn't a group for them.

Well I'm not too bothered about the name at all - I just want the group to
exist, I will be actively encouraging others to use LUGNET NEWS but if they
can't test their setup they won't know if it works.
The group lugnet.test really should be used quite simply because it is on top
of the hiearchy. Netscape News will display the groups like a File Manager
folder/file hiearchy so lugnet.off-topic.test would be hidden away under a
lugnet.off-topic folder and not used.
Carbon 60
P.S. How come my web-based posting display Simon Denscombe while on NNTP it
correctly displays Carbon 60?

| (...) Because your name is Simon Denscombe, not Carbon 60. Aliases/handles get the backseat here on lugnet and are understated as much as possible. There's no room to display both in the overview list, so it goes with your real name. (It's that way (...) (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
