is it possible, and worthwhile to have a thread score?  Have a thread • score
be the average score of _rated_ posts in that thread?

Weighted average? a post rated 75 by 5 should contribute more than one rated • 75
by 1, no?

how about saying "avg score 75 (1 out of 500 rated)"?

No, that's fine, what I was driving at was that I would not add up the averages
and divide by the number of posts, I'd add up the individual ratings and divide
by the number of ratings... see the diff?

Or were you talking about that already?

(...) heh, that was exactly what I meant by average of rated posts - not all posts in the thread. :) Dan (25 years ago, 29-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
