STILL not sure we're on the same page. Suppose we have 3 posts. One got 5
ratings (plus the dummy) and has an average of 75 (dummy 50, 100, 100, 100, 50,
50) One got 1 rating (plus the dummy) and has an average of 75 (dummy 50,
rating 100) One got no ratings (other than the dummy) and thus is at 50.
What is the average? In a weighted average I'd throw out all the dummies, count
how many posts were rated (2) and take the real ratings, sum up 100, 100, 100,
50, 50 and 100 (from the one real rating)100 to get an average of 500/6, or
83. In a rated average post, I'd toss the 50 (not rated) and get an average of
75.
Which did you mean? I mean the weighted average of human ratings across all
posts that got at least one human rating.
