    errr... 403 Forbidden? —Dan Boger
Todd? Is it on purpose that when I try to do get('(URL) get forbidden? Am I being blocked? ;) My scripts just use Lugnet as the definitive source of Lego sets... Could it be that when you split the main page according to browser type, you didn't set (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Get rid of those quote marks and you should be fine. The trailing one is especially bugging up. As you typed it, it dos not work for me. Entered manually in Netscape v.4.51 works perfect for me. __Kevin Salm__ (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: errr... 403 Forbidden? —Dan Boger
(...) sorry - I should have posted the whole script: #!/usr/local/bin/perl use LWP::Simple qw/getprint/; $url = shift || dir "No URL."; $|=1; getprint($url); and if I run it with (URL) I get a forbidden responce... :/ Again, sorry for the confusion.       (...) Don't you need a trailing / ? I remember a long time ago www.lugnet.com (or was it fibblesnork.com?) would bring up an annoying error message while www.lugnet.com/ would bring up the correct page. I think Todd was trying to make some silly (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) well, the thing is - it _used_ to work... but just in case, I tried it with a trailing slash, and still, 403... :/ Dan (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: errr... 403 Forbidden? —Todd Lehman
(...) There's the problem. LWP::Simple is in the list of blocked user agents. (Has been since 1998.) --Todd (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: errr... 403 Forbidden? —Dan Boger
(...) this is very strange.... it used to work - as recently as last week! I'm pretty sure I didn't modify anything recently... nope, mtime is Mar 13th, and that was just an error checking... I guess I could set the UA to be something else... (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) I see a whole bunch of hits from "lwp-trivial/1.32" but none from "LWP::Simple" except the ones tonight. (If that helps.) (...) Hmmm.      (...) well, like I said, I set it to "LugnetReader" - I think that might ring a bell ;) Dan (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: errr... 403 Forbidden? —Todd Lehman
(...) Not sure without more details. Can you run it again and note the exact time, and I'll have a look in the logs. Most likely, your browser or script is identifying itself as one of the user agents that gets blocked (mostly nefarious crawlers or (...) (25 years ago, 26-Mar-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) OK, I see it in the logs... "LWP::Simple/5.44"... I don't get how it could ever have worked before... I did recently (last week) update the UA block regex to account for another evil crawler that was tromping around, but LWP::Simple has been (...)    (...) hmmm.... do you see other hits (other UA agents) from that addy? Just wondering what they were... It could be that I upgraded libwww-perl last week at some point...
