What can we do to help spread the good word about the use of local languages
in the lugnet.loc.* groups? It's perfectly OK (even encouraged :-) to use
local languages there. That's one of the very reasons they were established.
Yesterday, I came across Mario Ferrari's page of Italian LEGO Maniacs,

and was pleasantly surprised that there are more than 10! (And Mario says he
knows of even more who aren't listed on his page :-)
But given the lack of activity in the .loc.it group(s), something seemed
surprising about there being that many people onlnie. So I wrote Mario and
asked for his thoughts, and he said perhaps most people don't feel enough at
ease with their English to write messages. He offered to lead people to
.loc.it if it was all right to use Italian there.
So last night, Mario posted the message below to lugnet.loc.it (and I assume
he also emailed it to his LEGO friends), and just in the past 12 hours, two
people with .it email addresses have done the news-posting setup. This is
cool. :-)
