Links are a part of it, although right now I don't have a web interface for
updating the lists of links like the ones seen at:
http://www.lugnet.com/cad/ldraw/tools/
So it's somewhat like tending links, plus creating new text-based content,
plus marshalling memes and other text-based content that other people create
(all under a common simple framework). Same thing that would be on any
member-page, only this is for group-common category-pages. The text-based
content can of course contain hyperlinks anywhere throughout, which means
that a degenerate case is a simple link collection on a page.

Yup, it's one of the very best uses of my time right now, because there is a
very large code overlap between these category content pages and the member
pages -- almost zero code throwaway -- and that makes it the perfect
stepping-stone toward member-page functionality and meme support, both of
which are critical-path items.
A bad use of my time right now would, for example, be tinkering with the
news-posting filter mechanisms to facilitate mentor-pairings. (At this
point, that would just be unnecessary continuation-engineering. Someday
later, of course, system-assisted mentorings may grow much more important.)

| (...) It was a private email so I softened what it said. (...) Great idea to tap into Joseph G.'s enthusiasm. Sometimes no one does as good a job as someone who is frustrated by what has been done so far. Bad idea to write code for this function if (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
