Unfortunately, having two quick-search boxes on one page isn't compatible
with MSIE. :-( That is, if there are two or more forms on one page, then
the Enter key no longer functions in a search box. More details:

It really sucks, I think. And making a single form with two edit boxes
(rather than two forms each with one edit box) doesn't work either. :-(

Hmmm...I wonder if something could be done with frames to get around the
problem.

Hmm. Hrmm. Hummmmmm. Darn power users! -- they ruin everything ;-)
All right then, how well would something like this work out for you?...

There's an upside and a downside to that. The upside is of course that you
get the set search box on every single page you see -- and it works in MSIE
or Netscape. The downside is that it uses frames, which means that pages
are more difficult to bookmark and refer to by URL, and scrolling around
with the arrow keys isn't as easy.

| (...) Yeah, that does suck. And I tell you, as much as I prefer MSIE over Communicator (seems like every time I upgrade to a new, supposedly stable version of Communicator it does nothing but crash) I'm hearing more and more about problems with IE. | Todd, Is there any plan to bring back the search box on the main Lugnet page? I use that box more often than I can say, which is why my home computer has www.lugnet.com as its homepage. Now, though, I have to click an extra link. I know that you (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.admin.general)
