Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Tom McDonald
(...) I initially thought that as well, and my inital answer is no. Yet I'm willing to just say I goofed and did though I don't recall doing so. Suffice it to say that spending 5 continual hours on this machine (I even logged out and back in that (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Todd Lehman
(...) I don't want to let something go that might conceivably be a bug somewhere. That wouldn't be good. Someone (...or...some...thing ;) caused the server to repost the message a second time. Unless there is some really horrible strange bug (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Todd Lehman
(...) Say, is it possible the second time around that you clicked the "Post Message" button and then hit the Esc key or clicked the browser's Stop button? That's the only explanation for the 'Bytes' count being 0 ("-") in the entry above. Fess up. (...) (25 years ago, 19-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Ed Jones
(...) Just out of curiosity, was Mr. McDonald posting from the webpage instead of newsgroups. The reason I ask is....          Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Todd Lehman
(...) Yup! Exactly, that's what we're looking into... (...) That was my thought. It's the only logical explanation, given the data in the webserver logs. The bummer of it is: Although it would be easy enough to embed a unique key in a hidden form (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Tom McDonald
(...) Please, call me Tom. I've been known to call you Ed when you're not looking :) (...) I just thought of another logical possibility that eluded me last night: I probly had opened another browser window when I was typing my message to be able to (...)          Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Ed Jones
(...) [major snip] (...) Another possibility would to add a link back to the Discussion Group on the Message Confirmation Screen saying something like "Return to Lugnet Announce". That would eliminate the necessity of hitting the back button (and (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) As Homer would say: D'oh!!!! Of course Todd already has a link on the Message confirmation screen!!! Saw it agin when I sent the previous message!! (25 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Uh Oh... (was Traffic Error ) —Tom McDonald
(...) I don't know. I'm just using my one machine at home with Mindspring as my ISP. I don't remember if I had to disconnect that night, but probly did.
