  Re: Message indexing awry?

(...) René and I are actively discussing options here - however at this stage it would be far too early to promise anything. As it stands, Lugnet-posts are not exactly easy to maintain and even a members-only edit function would bear a couple of (...) (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Message indexing awry?

(...) It's entirely possible that I did mess them up, although I can't recall if I did in that particular case. I do sometimes get a little confused switching between phpbb and ftx style posting. Any chance of an 'edit' button? ;) Allister (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) Laugh yourself into apoplexy. Even though I'm no longer an Ambassador, I'm pleased with having been part of the program. I feel that my participation, however small, helped in some way to improve TLG's response to AFOL concerns. And I hope to (...) (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) It seems to me it's always been a one way street. OK, there's been a couple of 'exclusive' announcements, about 12 hours before the official announcement. Not exactly exclusive. As far as I can see, nothing's changed since (URL) this post>. (...) (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) Kelly, We definitely want two way communication with the Ambassador program. Official company announcements from LEGO, such as new products and programs, will be made mainly by Steve and Jan. Exceptions could be ambassadors speaking about a (...) (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: Message indexing awry?

(...) Thanks for looking into this Gereon. I'm wondering whether this is a problem with the NNTP server or a problem with extra meta-data stored specifically for the web interface? (...) Yeah I noticed the raw message seemed incorrect, but I (...) (18 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) Ben, About about your last sentence... one of the things the first two or three cycles of Ambassadors discussed was how to be a two-way conduit between TLG and the community, but it sounds like that's changed to be more one way: info goes into (...)   Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) Hi Ben, thank you very much for wording this thought. I view the matter in a similar way. First I thought of lugnet.announce.ambassadors or lugnet.lego.ambassadors, but came to the conclusion to create a separate group for the reasons you have (...)   Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) The Ambassadors are not employees of the LEGO Company. I think it would be better not to have our announcements in the company area of lugnet. Most Ambassador threads will be discussion topics and polls to gather fan feedback for LEGO. I (...) (18 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: Message indexing awry?

(...) I couldn't say that messages have been moved, however if messages are set followup-to another group, then we obviously have a chance of hitting this issue. I have yet to find a regularity with this behavior, since we have quite a large number (...) (18 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Message indexing awry?

There appears to be something dicky happening with some message indexing. Example 1: (URL) should be attached to this post: (URL) 2: (in the same thread): (URL) should be a reply to: (URL) but appears beside it in the tree display. Example 3: (URL) (...)   Is this group in the right place?

I'm just wondering if this group should be under the lugnet.lego hierarchy, as the ambassador program is run by TLC? FUT: .admin.general ROSCO (18 years ago, 27-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.ambassadors)

  Re: Some assistance please!

(...) I haven't (re)checked the lugnet ToU, but I'm pretty sure that part of the deal here is that people can only post under their real name. You might be in luck, though: I think at least one (URL) exception> has been made lately - but I could be (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Some assistance please!

I was wondering if someone could offer some assistance! I've just entered into a government position the requires me to have my full name omitted from any web sites or internet documents. I joined Lugnet long ago when it first started up sith Suz (...) (18 years ago, 23-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: LUGNET Guide updates (Tue 14 Nov 2006)

(...) It does make it harder to see posts from people providing updated information. The log of updates is probably generally of minimal interest. Having it available is nice, but I don't need to see it on a daily basis. Of course, I've been a (...) (18 years ago, 16-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: LUGNET Guide updates (Tue 14 Nov 2006)

(...) Well, it's the best place I can think of for them, working from the assumption that lugnet.admin.database is the newsgroup for postings related to the LUGNET Guide. That assumption is not actually supported by the charter but no existing (...) (18 years ago, 16-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.database, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: LUGNET Guide updates (Tue 14 Nov 2006)

(...) lugnet.admin.database doesn't seem to be a discussion group. The charter says "Set listings, theme/set/element datafication & esoterica, etc." To me that sounds primarily like a data dumping ground, although I suppose discussion of that data (...)
