overfull mailbox in vacation mode bouncing messages to me.

This is usually due to recipients not caring about the "reply-to" field. As a
subscriber, you can select whether the posts you receive via email should
include the original poster or rather the newsgroup-address in the reply-to
field. The latter should prove safe enough.

OTOH, I do not completely get your point, as auto-replies to email-forwarded
posts should only be directed to the From- (= Original poster) or Reply-To
address, but never to all recipients of the forwarded posts. If you are
receiving bounces, those should thus only be bounces relating to your own posts
forwarded to other subscribers.

If you are in doubt about this, feel free to forward me example messages of such
bounces, so I can try to dig into the subject. There is no functionality I could
possibly disable per se.

I report these misdirected bounce emails as spam, as there's nothing at all
I can do about them.  And I don't want to receive them.  LUGNET needs to
show itself as the authenticated from, sender, and reply-to adresses on all
mail to news gateway emails if they wish to prevent these misdirected emails
from coming to my inbox.

I can understand you in this regard, however looking at established mailing list
functionality, it is not possible to completely do so. The original poster needs
to remain in the From field at the least, since otherwise LUGNET would have
written (and thus be responsible) for something it didn't. (A network hardly can
write anything at all on its own).

I'm hoping the LUGNET admins can fix the problem with messages being
forwarded incorrectly so that they can deal with the problem overfull mail
box, and leave me in peace.

I have seen a number of mail bounces in the past, and they keep coming in - to
the correct "Reply-To" address. This is intended, because if they keep coming
in, we can force unsubscription.

Thanks,

Jerry
