I didn’t miss it. However, you haven’t post here or on your
blog since August. Rumor was that
you had decided against giving Lugnet to Rene, and that was backed up by seven
months of silence. Part of making a decision is following through with it.

I’ll say it again, so there’s no mistake: Todd and I are giving up LUGNET.
Rene is taking over. It’s only a matter of finalizing things, which I’m
working on now.
Let’s use this thread for you to ask me specific questions. I’ll do my best
to

What are the issues involved in finalization?
Can you give us any sort of timeline for that finalization?
Will the hand over be immeadiate, or will there be some sort of phasing between
one administration to another?
Will the hand over be the ownership of Lugnet, or just Admin responsibilities?
Is the TOS going to be updated?
Is there going to be a change in how membership works?

Some issues, like the making of rules regarding “time-outs”, duration of
those, and how to notify the community of the new rules, etc. would take a lot
of time for me to sort out and make decisions on. I have no intention of being
a future admin here. So, considering that I’m not going to be enforcing them,
I’d rather leave those issues to the next administrators. ..Maybe this sounds
like I’m wimping out, but I want to focus on the transition itself. nuts and
bolts.

I don’t think it is wimping out at all. Rene et al. should have a key hand in
creating the rules that he will have to enforce. I think that it is very brave
to continually step up to the plate to get this finished. I hope that it
happens, and I hope it is a big success. And I deeply hope that things in your
life get better.
