Eurobricks is well run and has more than enough to keep most people posting
with some fun. Rules are somewhat less strict and the admins are quick to
take action against blatant spammers/offensive/trolls who wont behave. It
doesnt have a TOS per say but it is really common sense type stuff. If you
dont think respect and courtesy are important then you will likely get
banned. Most sites have a TOS to outline such behavior but they shouldnt
need such things if people had respect and a little common sense.
I have been hanging out there as I really enjoy the unique personalities and
all the fun little bits not found everywhere else. The name of the site is a
little off considering less than 50% (barely) of the members are from Europe
so dont let that bother you.
I really enjoyed LUGNET in the past though I rarely posted. It was a fun
place to be. I hope it can move on and become fun again but until that time
I will be on Eurobricks.

Unfortunately, I dont think Eurobricks adequately fills the void left by
LUGNET. LUGNET has enjoyed an older audience of AFOLs whose primary focus seems
to be MOCing and displaying their works. Eurobricks on the other hand seems to
cater to a younger crowd, playing up to the set-collector more than the MOCer.
Simply put, the two sites have very different audiences. Thats not to say that
one is mutually exclusive of the other, but the differences between the two
sites is quite apparent.
Unfortunately, I dont think there is a real alternative to LUGNET (there may
never be), so I pray that things dont continue on this downward spiral. LUGNET
used to be a place where average builders like myself could come for inspiration
from some of the best builders in the community. It fostered intellegent and
thought-provoking conversations on all things LEGO in a way no other site (at
least in English) has been able to. If LUGNET is unable to recover, Im not
sure that there is an adequate alternative out there.
Still, Im not ready to give up all hope.
Later.
