I read Lugnet through the Internet site.  A slight navigation suggestion:
Add a link to each Locality Site back to the Localities List.

OK, gotcha.  Yup, I agree, this would greatly simplify perusal/exploration
of the loc groups.

The nav links will likely be hierarchical in nature -- so that a nav-bar
along the top of each page will look something like this:

  Home / Local / United States / New York / New York City / Staten Island
  ~~~~   ~~~~~   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~   ~~~~~~~~   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The ~'s here are a crude representation of linkage-underscores in the
names above.  So if you're on the Staten Island page, you could click on
any of:
- Home (www.lugnet.com homepage)
- Local (homepage for all loc.* groups)
- United States (homepage for all lugnet.loc.us.* groups)
- New York (homepage for all lugnet.loc.us.ny.* groups)
- New York City (homepage for all lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny.* groups)
And if you're on a sub-page of the Staten Island page (like a particular
news article within the lugnet.loc.us.ny.ny.sta group), then Staten Island
would also be an underlined link above.
Does that sound OK?
Great, infinitely more than I expected, but I should have known better than
that from you.
This'll be a step toward making the newsgroups more hierarchical (in the
Yahoo! sense) and, in the larger sense, toward making www.lugnet.com into
an easy-to-browse portal to all things LEGO.
Yes, I know all I have to do is hit <BACK> to go back to the list, but I use
the link back to "Groups" from all the other boards and can't seem to stop
myself from doing so in the localities.
Grok.  :)  I don't like the way it currently is either -- it's not good
for beginners OR experts!
Grok???
A second advantage of the new way with lots of cross-linkages, BTW, will
be that you can give someone the URL directly into the Staten Island
group, and they can get to the other NYC groups quickly and intuitively.
That is, they won't even need anything in their <BACK> hierarchy.
That would be great!!!
(...) That single-word sentence was just short for "I grok" or "I grok what you're saying." 'Grok' is a word with many definitions, I think, but basically, to grok something means to understand it in a gut/zen/metaphysical way. In this case, 'grok' (...)
