I'm not sure it's productive to produce a summary purely for your benefit, just
because you worked almost as many hours last week as I did.

I think Terry's request is valid, Larry.  Unless we've overlooked it somewhere
(if so, please point it out), no statement has been provided to the LUGNET
Membership explaining the decision-making rationale used for the newly created
newsgroups.  The charters you refer to only describe what the groups are there
for.  The discussions you refer to only state a variety of personal
points-of-view, but not the official position of LUGNET.

This has certainly been a very interesting development for LUGNET (and I think a
challenging ethical dilemma), and I think all LUGNET Members who took notice of
the situation are precisely interested in hearing a summary of the decision.
Not that I believe that the "executive" is obligated to justify their decisions,
but it would at least be fair to the Membership to formally state that LUGNET is
executing its right to withhold such a summary.  I.e., if LUGNET is not going to
provide an official statement, then at least formally state that you're not
going to provide an official statement.  :]  Idn't that how politics work?  ;]
