  Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) What Lugnet should *really* do is keep track of read and unread posts, like a proper newsreader. Even better than a calendar. But that's a major change that's going to take a while to get implemented. Not that there's anything wrong with the (...) (...) I don't get it. Does Legofan.net have better membership packets? (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.publish.html, lugnet.general)

  Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) This has been on my list for awhile, I guess I'll speak up... BL has a cool feature for the discussion forum. It has a calender showing posts by date: (URL) I'm out of town for a weekend, it makes it very easy to pick up where I left off. (...)   Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) I've been a 'member' for a while and I couldn't give a rip for a 'packet'. The pros of LUGNET by far outweigh the "at the time was a good idea but now that it's only Todd and time marches on so, eh, whatrya gonna do?" missing membership (...)   Re: New homepage for LUGNET

(...) Oh please. Todd asked for some constructive input and volunteers to help improve on LUGNET, and you totally sidestep the point of his post and use this as an opportunity to take a pot shot at it. If you want to point out problems, I for one (...) (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.publish.html, lugnet.general, FTX)

So what was all this about? (URL) have two words to explain why some people are getting disatisfied with LUGNET: "membership packet" (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.publish.html, lugnet.general, FTX)

  New homepage for LUGNET

Someone brought this up at BrickFest PDX and others agreed it would be an excellent idea: Rather than mainly linking to internal LUGNET resources, the first thing someone should see when they visit the LUGNET homepage is iconic links to other major (...)   Re: INVESTMENT ASSISTANCE

(...) all. And of course, there's other kinds of spam as well. I don't think the mailing list link should be severed, but it'd be nice if the list had tighter policies. (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: INVESTMENT ASSISTANCE

  Re: INVESTMENT ASSISTANCE

(...) That's certainly a plan! This is the second such spam in as many days I think. I'd like to suggest that the link between LUGNET and the external mailing list be reconsidered, or that the maintainers of the external list not allow unvalidated (...)   Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Well, if you have a business or premium PayPal account, then you can configure it to do an HTTP POST to a URL of your choosing, with the details of the payment. You can then write a CGI that listens to that URL and activates the account (...) (21 years ago, 18-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

In lugnet.org, Kelly McKiernan wrote: [snip the rest of what Kelly said] (...) As Jake explained LEGOfan (the concept, the reasons for it) to me, I think its a great idea. It coincides with much of what the WorldLUG concept posted, so I'm encouraged (...) (21 years ago, 18-Feb-04, to lugnet.org, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general) !

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Well, if it comes down to it, there's a reason the Lugnet groups are all in a lugnet hierarchy. But as you may have gathered from my other posts, I'm strongly in favor of not duplicating discussion forums. (21 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.org, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) Caling people profane names, and posting curse words and baiting others is not something that is looked kindly upon here on Lugnet - you may want to keep this in mind in the future. It is also not in the spirit of what we are here for. Posted (...) (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) I think any standards compliant browser should work for the website, oh, and IE. We do want to implement an NNTP interface as well as an SMTP, for as much content as possible. My personal philosophy is that javascript can be used only to (...) (21 years ago, 15-Feb-04, to lugnet.org, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general) !

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

The reason I ask is that I'm an old-fashioned soul, and am unlikely to use discussion groups that are not NNTP-reachable, (...)
