I'm happy that you point that two OS.
I've tried to have SVG working under Linux RedHat 7.3 and Mozilla
1.0.1 without success.
The plugins that are on Adobe web page are from 2001 and have been
developped for Mozilla 0.99 and they don't work with version > 1.00.
The same problem occurs with Netscape 7.02 on Win 98.
I have to admit that I didn't really search alternatives plugin
for Linux yet, but I will.
As I do have a win98, I have IE and with Adobe plugin it does
work perfectly well. The maps are greats, that's a very good job.
Someone mention to have a link on web sites of the LUG and
I thing that is a good idea.
All the best for the improvments that are on your todo list.
I will look at it closely :)
