Mark, I'm unsure if you're asking for more directions on the posting page,
or more directions in the FAQ, or both. In the case you think that the FAQ
is unclear on how to cross-post, I added this line:

"Click _here_ to test cross-posting."
Where 'here' directs you to:

Please take a look at these also:

http://www.lugnet.com/~330/FAQ/Administrative/fut
http://www.lugnet.com/~330/FAQ/Administrative/followup
http://www.lugnet.com/~330/FAQ/Administrative/followup2

I know that not everyone is happy about the current FAQ entry on
cross-posting, but if you can tell me how to make it better, I'm happy to try.

Thanks,
Cary

It's not a process I'd describe as very simple.  It is once you figure it
out, sure, but til then... no way.  I figured out the corss posting by
looking at how others did it and figured it out.  Before that I simply
limited myself to one group, wondering how ~they~ did it!  I certainly
remember my first cross posting, "gad I hope this
works......<praying>......looks goood......hey, It worked!"  Not like I knew
what I was doing exactly.

Why not a button or link on the posting page that says "how to post to
multible groups" or something akin to that?  ("Common posting practices" or
"Advanced posting techniques" maybe?)  It'd be right there when posting a
message, those unfamiliar with how those features work would have access to
the information in a relevant location, and somthing unoffensive like a
button won't annoy the savy user yet be obvious for the novice.

My 2 cents cause I feel like I've been on both sides of this.

Mark
