(...) Gaak, is this a double post? delete it if so, sorry...   Re: Announcing new LUGNET homepage

(...) I'm not a selfish guy Larry, I was thinking of others and making a suggestion at the same time. If I could customise the homepage, I'm sure it'd end up like the old one pretty much - call me conservative (with a small c). Like I said, this is (...)   Re: Announcing new LUGNET homepage

(...) Sure, I have done the same. Whether it is better or not is another issue. I'm not bothered either way though to be honest - I'll be sticking with news. for the time being. My take on the new page is that it is more for new users than existing (...) (26 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) I like the news view so I overrode my bookmark that used to point to www... to now point to news... Isn't that easier than using a cookie? At least for now. Certainly if we get to where non members can customize, maybe cookies are the way to (...) (26 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Announcing new LUGNET homepage

(...) For example, you won't be able to (sometime probably within a week) be able to read news at www.lugnet.com anymore -- the only reason you still can now is just for backward compatibility and a gentle switchover. Those old URLs (now deprecated) (...) (26 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) (Which isn't to rule out the possibility of customization -- only that that URL is the homepage and other top-level subdomain URLs aren't homepages even though they're top page. If you take my meaning!) --Todd (26 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
