Many years ago (maybe 1986) I wrote some of the simple projection routines for a little mapping project.. I think it was some sort of independent study. (...) mmm, good idea. I wonder if I could get it to just fill in the form fields based on the viewport. If you zoom in (Command-click on Mac, Ctrl-click on Windows) or pan (Option-drag on Mac, Shift-drag on Windows), then the viewport changes. I bet (...) BTW, here's a quick comparison showing file sizes when the same view is rendered for different intended viewing sizes: (URL) reason theyre not all the same file size, even though its all vector graphics, is because at smaller intended viewing (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Me too. Although that approach certainly has its downsides in cases like NELUG, which officially covers a 5-state area but 99% of the activity occurs within 20 miles of Boston.
