Re: Another sticker and sneak peak

(...) I use "Invent It" brand Print & Stick Project Paper, glossy finish. The sheets come in letter size but you can trim to other sizes as needed. (...) Dunno, I haven't trid them on a slope piece yet. These stickers are 1.5" X 2.5". In Lego (...) (20 years ago, 7-Aug-04, to lugnet.space)

(...) <snip> (...) <snip> (...) While I agree that your use of the smiley/grumpy bricks is great (salvages an otherwise pretty unusable printed brick), it does point out a problem: I have a hard time seeing them as anything other than grumpy bricks.   4.5V? 9V? 12V?

I'm trying to add some simple electronics to my LEGO models, but I'm not sure where to start. Browsing the part inventories at peeron.com, I see battery boxes, motors, connectors, and lights rated for 4.5, 9, or 12V. It seems like I should pick a (...) (...) Thanks! I will do a blow-apart of one of the seraphim soon, I may just take the photo at brickfest and upload it afterwards, though. (...) That's some good advice on the photography... this is my largest MOC to date (aside from a sculpture, (...) (20 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: challenge: LEGO copier

(...) Actually, he said "flat". So I would assume that he meant an assortment of bricks simply stuck to one baseplate, sort of like a mosaic. As for brick boundaries... I think the only thing you would need to worry about is the boundaries where the (...) (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

Jake- Very good news! Thanks. Light and dark grays are our favorite colors for making large real-world models. Here is what would keep us building for a long time to come in dark gray: 1x1 bricks 1x2 bricks 1x3 bricks 1x4 bricks 1x6 bricks 1x8 (...)   Re: MOC Cards

(...) I was thinking, if MOC Cards are displayed all over in a layout or Display, it might break up the look of the display and or interfere with aspects of the display. So perhaps, instead of the cards being put in the layout, why not make an (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

Re: In dev: new ldconfig.ldr file

(...) The DOS tools won't use the file, but DOS users may still unzip new part libraries to an 8.3 filesystem. (...) I like it, but I'll have to spend some more time comparing. Many of the colors vary a bit from the ldlite defaults, and some of the (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  STL File for 3D Printing

I'd like to have a few LEGO bricks 3D printed at SIGGRAPH this year. I have a contact who is willing to print up the bricks for me using a StrataSys machine [1]. Can someone please create and send me an ASCII STL file of a 2x4 brick? Also, any other (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.events, FTX)

(...) Wow! I really like the second one, the bricks with ridges on the sides look very nice. The radar dish fits nicely in the arches and inverted arches. Great MOC! :) Chris Perron (20 years ago, 4-Aug-04, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: challenge: LEGO copier

(...) No - you'd just use a touch sensor that you could lower down onto the model you are 'scanning' - it would be easy enough to measure whether there was a hole or a brick. (...) The Lego camera isn't really much use because it can't talk to the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: challenge: LEGO copier

(...) Actually, I think it would be a good idea to use pneumatics to push the bricks together. Any resistance met by pneumatics simply increases the air pressure required to keep pushing, rather than actually damaging any pieces. (...) Why do you (...) As much as I love the trollish Vorgans and some of the Dragons pieces (particularly the rough-hewn bricks), I really don't care for the painting on a good many of the elements, and the over-juniorization leaves me cold.
