Re: SW sets are in Ann Arbor Meijer's! :)

I've only opened one, one of the TIE-Fighter/Y-Wings. The others are for my kids, some as Easter-basket presents, and the others prolly as birthday presents. The instructions are pretty cool looking, with a small (like 1.125"x.375") scene from the (...) (26 years ago, 8-Mar-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.loc.us.mi.grr)

  Re: Miniland Building Techniques

The round part of this building looks like it uses 1x2/1x4 hinge bricks: (URL) it doesn't look like they used those all the way up along the wall. I wonder why not? -- Thomas Main main@appstate.edu (26 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

Sensor readings on the RCX display

I know that you old-timers (?-) out there already know this, but I just learned it last week and some others may not know by now. You can read the sensor values directly on the brick's display by pressing the "view" button repeatedly until the (...) (26 years ago, 11-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  First Impressions of #7150 - TIE Fighter / Y-Wing

OK. I opened the box, I built the models, and here's what I thought about it: The Packaging: quite different from other LEGO sets. I think the box was designed by someone who pays more attention to marketing than most TLG designers. It's a slicker (...) (26 years ago, 9-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.reviews)

5151 Steep Sloped Bricks (45 deg)

I got some red roof bricks from S@H and as I was trying to build a (small) roof structure, and noticed that there is not a brick that will turn a corner at the ridge of a hip roof (or gabled roof for that matter). There is also not a brick that will (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Were Parts Packs available in US stores?

I remember finding roof parts packs in a store here in Vancouver in the early 90's, when my daughter was into building large houses and we always needed (still need!) more roof bricks. The Hoth Battle scene that I'm working on will be pov-rayed. I don't know alot about POVRAY so what I did for snow was to just make a base out of bricks.
