  Re: Project WIRRL Update

I'm looking for an RF solution for PC-RCX communication as well, been thinking along very much the same lines as Rob seems to have so far, I too was pondering how to deal with TX/RX switching (though I've not got as far as building a circuit, and (...)   RE: Another update for WIRRL

I just noticed at least one glaring error with the new schematic... Say, for argument, an RCX sends "1001", which, in IR, would be "0110". The IR detector of WIRRL would do nothing for the first bit ("0"), but the next bit ("1") should be sent over (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Michael Hader built one of these in 2000 and brought it to a few NGLTC shows. Michael's car had headlights for the tunnels and was very functional in design. It didn't have a motor of its own, so it was either towed or pushed around the track. (...) (22 years ago, 23-Nov-02, to lugnet.trains)

  RCX and batteries

Is the RCX considered a "high-drain" or "moderate-drain" device? If one is using the motors, I'd almost say yes, but how does frequency of use factor into this? Is anyone using rechargeable NiMH batteries in their RCX? What kind of performance to (...) (22 years ago, 24-Nov-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Thomas, I had a thought about this situation. You could write a function that sets a flag when the event is triggered, do nothing otherwise. You could call this function from within each of the tasks you write (at a somewhat high frequency ... say (...) (22 years ago, 28-Nov-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

I think what we can safely conclude from this thread is that: 1) there are lies, damned lies and statistics (I apparently have posted 287, 321 or 481 times in 2002) 2) no matter how you caculate it, Larry posted most :-) 3) people need to learn to (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.people)
