Heh, before they want to buy a Jackstone set, you should have a father to
child talk to them about it. Ask them why they would want to buy this set.
I think this would be able to help. Heheheh.

The long awaited Harry Potter issue!
(Aside: My daughter, Hazel, aged 3.75, can identify *all* the characters,
she even identified Harry Potter leaning out the window of the Hogwarts
Express... good to see the preschool curriculum staying up to date!)
Definitely better than the last issue. No special offers, but we did get a
voucher for a free Jack Stone video hire, a Christmas Card from LEGO and a
sheet of HP stickers (Hazel was happy!).
I was impressed that they'd finally got some good MOC pictures sent in. That
cruise ship is amazing (built by 9 yo Daniela) and it's huge. The colloseum
and the empire state building were also great, and the duplo car wash was
pretty good as well. Good to see something other than factory models being
joined together.
The back page was a bit odd. Good to see instructions for a 1974 set updated
to use current parts (and good to see the old striped logo as well!), but
whoever built the original got the rotors wrong, and I'm sure that
windscreen wasn't the '74 original.

In today's mail I got a copy of a Jack Stone video from LEGO.
Quoting from the back of the tape sleeve:
"We hope you enjoy this FREE Jack Stone video from your friends at LEGO! Join
Jack Stone as he uses his wits and imagination to save the victims of a flood,
break up a bank robbery, and put out a blazing fire. It's all part of another
exciting day in the life of Jack Stone!"
It has a set number on it: 3901.
Anyone else seen one of these? Is it worth watching? It doesn't look very long;
probably less than 1/2 hour.

I watched it once, and it reminded me strongly of certain bits from the "Mind's
Eye" video series... most of which are about 5 years old, or more.
I kind of enjoyed it, in a twisted sort of way.
And no, it didn't inspire me to buy any Jack Stone sets. I don't mind the giant
figs so much, but the fact that there seems to be so little else you can build
out of the pieces. I'd rather buy the Mickey Mouse Fabuland-ish sets, or even
plain old Duplo for that age range.
