| | Re: Train tables
| (...) There are two competing philosophies here... PNLTC has tables. They put their tables together and they build the layout "from scratch" each time, putting track together and buildings down, etc. onto a brown or green colored table. At least (...) | | Re: Counting parts
| OK, I knew this would happen when Acronyms use crosses over to different LUGNET groups, but what is the "M" in GMLTC (Greater ........ Lego Train Club)? And yes, as Nick asked, who is Conan? His name doesn't ring a bell. Gary Istok (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

| | Re: Counting parts
| (...) That's Terry C. Terry Cruse. HE has a lot of parts. But Conan has more, I am convinced. We think he has around 2.3 Million elements or more in his collection. We (the GMLTC) believe it to be the largest privately held collection extant, other (...) (25 years ago, 3-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

| My fault. I've been _way_ too busy with work :-( john 3 got some new pics of the model shop too, did a reunion tour three/four weeks ago... and built a few small models. (...) (25 years ago, 19-May-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

| | Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)
| Ed, your system sounds like Conan's (the GMLTC host/chief lunatic) in a lot of ways. (...) He has about 100 or so of these. 40 of them are for basic bricks and plates, and 30 or so for slopes and windows. A final 30 or so have train parts, hinges (...) (25 years ago, 23-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

Approximately 15 feet of train yard, with a roundhouse & Mindstorms controlled turntable, and as many sidings of track as we can fit onto the tables. He called me 'genius'... <blush> (...) | (...) Isn't there a big aqua/hydronauts set that has it? 2 in Black, I think. Name escapes me but it has a big stinger tail. That water tower is very cool. Nice use of rounds to allow for bending the sidewalls. I just built a water tower for the (...) (25 years ago, 16-May-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.trains)

| (...) Take a look at the PNLTC and GMLTC layouts. Those may be a bit big for what one person can do, but they'll give you ideas. Then look at the work of Robin Werner for ideas about what one person can achieve. PNLTC: (URL) (I need to index these): (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-99, to lugnet.trains)
