New MOC: 1913 Dan Patch Electric Lines GE Boxcab

Greetings, I've always been somewhat intimidated by the great 8-wide locomotives fellow GMLTC members John Gerlach, Dan Siskind, and John Neal have created. After spending much of last weekend surrounded by the real thing (see (URL) G.M.L.T.C. to (...) (21 years ago, 3-May-03, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.trains) !

  Re: how odd!!!!

(...) Those certainly are strange! My first thought is that they might be what some of my friends call "hand moulds". Apparently when Lego creates/gets a new mould, they test it in something other than a full-blown production machine. Probably at a (...) (21 years ago, 18-Apr-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: layoffs in Enfield

(...) A company that I've supported with *thousands* of dollars lays off a good friend of mine, it makes me want to stop supporting them. Kinda like when your favorite sports team trades your favorite player. It makes you like that team less than (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  layoffs in Enfield

Dear LEGO: I got an email this weekend from a good friend of mine. For almost 15 years he's been working for you in Enfield, and last week he was layed off. Is business really so bad that you have to get rid of talented long-time loyal employees? (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Which set has 12- and 20 tooth double bevel gears?

(...) The "Spybotics" sets all have the double-bevel gears. If you're lucky, you can find the sets on clearance - I got lucky and scored three of them at 75% off after Christmas at a not-so-local Target... I'm going to hazard a *guess* that Lego (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.technic)
