  Re: Old Lego colors

(...) One thing that we need to remember was that in the late 50's and thru much of the 60's LEGO consisted mainly of TOWN sets . And in both Europe and USA/Canada (Samsonite) TOWN consisted of the Town Plan system. The (Samsonite) Town Plan set (...) (25 years ago, 14-May-99, to lugnet.general)

John - thank you for your response to my posting. I'm sorry, of course, that I had to break this news to you. (...) I think the most rare LEGO pieces are the 'swirl' bricks. Long ago, with the old injection machines, when changing from one color to another, they'd get a few swirled color pieces. With each one being unique, I'd bet the swirled bricks would (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.minifigs)

Hi! This looks like a good idea. I myself am looking for this. I will look into what I have. At least some older white bricks (really old) and some other stuff. Maybe also some blue roofpeiceses (bended). Og and some broken hinges (old style 2 4x2 (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jan-01, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

Re: Request for Feedback - focused thread

(...) I've seen two paths to accumulating new greys quickly: 1) Starter tubs 2) Releasing legends in the new colors Choice 2 works really well for castle. You'd get good proportions of walls and bricks to help fill them in. For space, maybe (...) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Do you want to tell me the ABS becomes harder over the years and that is the reason why new plates are deformed, when I use my fingernails to take them apart and old ones are not?   Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

The main reasons i do not like this color change: 1. They don't match the old ones. 2. When mixed, the old ones look like degradaded with time. The old light grey seem too much yellowed and i hate yellowed parts. (see this post: (URL) Storing will (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Is this for real?

There are enough obviously real Duplo pieces in there (horse, pot, 2*2 and 4*2 bricks, various plates, sloped bricks, ladder, ball) for me to think this is probably real, and as Mark pointed out the figs in the picture do compare well with the new (...)   Old Lego colors

Gary's question about the red stripe reminded me of something. Take a look at those pics of the old sets: note the preponderance of red and white, and then yellow.
