Re: Proportions for a 2001 Monolith in LEGO?

(...) 1 4 9 ?? where have I heard that before?... I had no idea it was 1 4 9 ! OK, seriously. What I'm driving at is that if you want to do it in bricks and do it the easy way, studs up, the dimensions I gave for bricks of 2x8x15 high convert to 40 (...)   4x2ReVu: 6868 Hulk Helicarrier Breakout

After ten years working shifts at the Vault I figured I needed a change of pace. My time at the high-stakes prison facility was shoo-in to get me work on S.H.I.E.L.D's Helicarrier (not just 'cause of my security clearance but it shows I can handle (...)   Re: Studless Technic models

(...) Building with the old style of pieces required a lot of pieces to do anything just to strengthen the design enough that it wouldn't rip itself apart. Why is it so much worse that the modern pieces require a few extra pieces if, and only if, (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jan-04, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

First off, thanks for putting this out there, Jake. Now, to answer your question: Personally, I LIKE the new colors. I have amassed a lot of "old" light gray and I build a lot of spaceships in that color. I like to use old, worn and faded light gray (...) Hi Jake, thank you for your concern in our dislike in the new colors and for starting this posting. This is my first posting here on Lugnet. I am usually a quiet reader here. And I think if it hadn't been for the color change, I keep my lips shut. (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

The main reasons i do not like this color change: 1. They don't match the old ones. 2. When mixed, the old ones look like degradaded with time. The old light grey seem too much yellowed and i hate yellowed parts. (see this post: (URL) Storing will (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, FTX)

I was there just a month ago and I agree with the first post by David. The bulk bricks were in the Mania club house - they were at the counter where they sell food and drinks.   Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

Surely one of the main values of a construction toy is that more bricks can be added over time to create new models. This is why I cannot understand why the LEGO company is removing the colour compatibility of new sets with old. The changes are (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jan-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)

Re: Nicely now. What do you think of the new colors?

(...) Hi, I am in the camp that likes the new colors, and I think the new light grey may be better than the old. But then, I have a pretty large collection of the old colors, and for what I do with LEGO, it's all I should need going forward. For me, (...) Jake, Thank-you for asking. I am very much in favor of TLG bringing back the old colors. The cornerstone of the Lego System is compatibility. The idea that set elements can be combined.
