  Re: Displacement Tonnage for Spaceships?

(...) I would agree that it is not based on any true science. Rather, I suspect hydrogen displacement was chosen because of the potential "sounds cool factor", since it sounds like a nautical term. Some sci-fi's (not all) like to draw comparisons (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: trying to guess the stud spacing by measuring bricks

(...) No slur taken! (-: Actually, what I think happened is this: - Some company (it was in England somewhere, right?) stated making bricks, using a nice round number standard like 5/16 inch or 8 millimeters - LEGO bought the rights (or the company (...)   Some NXT sites I've run across.

OK, while we're all waiting for word on the MDP (one way or another), I was cruising the web, hoping for news... and found this: (URL) seems there's a number of NXT blogs springing up and linking up, and they've ferreted out some interesting (...) (19 years ago, 1-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Lego Bricks in the Classroom

Last summer, I ran a Lego Geometry workshop at UU church camp. It totally rocked. When participants left the first day, they were saying things like, "Now I finally know what ratios are good for." These are adults, mind you. It gave me such a charge (...) (19 years ago, 29-Jun-05, to lugnet.edu, FTX)

Re: Who else wants an AT-AT?

(...) <fanatic level=almost_there> Very true. There's a lot to consider :) There are a couple key scenes to derive the AT-AT's actual height. 1. Luke ascending to the underbelly (there's a shot available on www.starwars.com) 2. The foot trampling (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: How long is a length of monorail track?

(...) I've just assumed that LEGO's accuracy with stud-to-metric measurements is neigh on perfect (or, too close for me to accurately measure discrepancies). So, I've just assumed an interstud spacing of 8mm per stud. (...) I guess it depends on (...) (11 years ago, 13-May-13, to lugnet.general)

Hello again, I''m glad I generated some interest here! I hope, however, that we do not stray too far from discussing LEGO -- I have noticed complaints in at least one other LUGNET newsgroup. (...) Both quite rewarding, but difficult fields in which (...) (25 years ago, 5-Nov-99, to lugnet.space)

These are often called (respectively) by the names: Sway, (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  IR (formally 6.8nF cap)

I have asked for confirmation as to which frequency (38 or 40 KHz) is correct. As my current components should give me a frequency of 39KHz (1/3.883KOhm*6.6nF) I should be able to use either with out to much problem. I am thinking of using the (...)
