  Re: MXL Advanced Fighter

Whoa...SWEET! The rust/gray combo is nice, and the engine design is awesome! It looks like it could turn on a dime with that engine design. Where did you get the silverized wedges? Did you brasso the ones from Goblin's flyer? They're a spiffy (...) (21 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.starwars)

This is fun idea. I've wondered what lies beyond the SW contract for Lego Space. The LoM stuff has sorta grown on me over the last couple years and I've come to miss some the original themes. With the evolution that has come from SW parts, I'm (...) (21 years ago, 29-Apr-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) Wouldn't Solvol still be a bit abrasive? I use Brasso. This seems to be the generally accepted method of lego printing removal, and works a treat. It also leaves a nice shiny finish, but make sure you give it a good rinse afterwards. Allister (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Yes, but that's the point! (...) But it smells! And it is abrasive, too. I've used Brasso® to remove the printing from slopes (among other things)... it happily takes the texture off too. Cheers Richie (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.loc.au)

  I recommend Nevr-Dull myself

It comes in a big dark blue can and looks a big beige cotton ball. You tear off a piece and go to work with that. It takes about as much elbow grease but it doesn't have the very fine grit that is in Brasso. I find it leaves the pieces even shinier (...) I'd recommend Nevr-Dull because Brasso is too abrasive. Nevr-Dull will leave the glossy finish of new bricks and remove paint quite quickly.
