Re: Brad J Brickfest 2002 Keynote Speech synopsis

(...) Yeah, I always take that with a grain of salt too. I figure what they really mean is, "LEGO doesn't do military themes that your son [or daughter] could actually go die in." --Todd (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

<snip> (...) <snip> Lego doesnt do military. Really. So a set like 6762 Fort Legoredo, 6271 Imperial Flagship, or 6280 Aramada Flagship are not military based sets? While Lego may insist these are based in other themes like pirates or western, all (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Kohls 20% Lego Sale

For those wanting the EPII Gunship at 20% off here is your chance. Kohls seems to be having 20% off there entire line of Lego. I would assume this also includes Star Wars sets. (22 years ago, 3-May-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) I think TLC does care *somewhat* about our market segment. After all, they did send 7 people for two days. (...) My sense is that most brand-loyal LEGO fans are willing and able to evangelize LEGO whether we get anything in return or not. (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

(...) A great way for TLC to get their foot in the door WRT to European trains would be to get a licensing agreement with Britt Allcroft and produce some Thomas trains. Larry: Nothing personal, but this is the usual TLC/LD apologist stuff, so I will just ignore it generally. 1) Profiteering -- I don't care if they offer it as the official reason for some actions -- it's logically specious.
