| | Re:Re: Hi.
|
| Well, thank you all for the warm welcomes. Dave. I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some tips on starting a LUG, but first I need to find out if there is one in my area.. I seem to remember looking for one not to long ago, but apparently (...) (23 years ago, 6-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

| | Just finished my largest ship yet. =)
|
| It's 160 studs long, and weighs about 7-8 pounds. I KNOW I have a good disposable camera that I haven't used somewhere in my room. As soon as I can find it I'll post some pictures of my creations. (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

| | How do YOU make your hangar bay doors?
|
| I brought this up, again, after seeing an ancient article listed underneath the building tips section of the Galaction Shipyard (great site, Jon.) Anyhow, with my newest ship (grrr, I need a camera!!!) I constructed a very simple, yet effective door (...) (23 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

| | Re: Et in Arcadia Lego - new MOCs

| Maybe there could be some kind of user preference thing where you choose whether you want to authenticate messages or something? Though I don't know much about the Usenet network, so I really don't know how difficult it'd be to program that... (23 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

|
| Yup, train hinges. I just turned them at a 90* angle, attached them to the doors and ship, and I had a very strong, and simple door. Train hinges are actually great for this sort of thing... (23 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

| That "unidentified alien craft" is appealing to the eye, it has a kind of 'latest and greatest' feel if you look at it so that you can't see the quarter domes clearly. But when you can see the quarter domes, it definitely has an 'alien' feel, and (...) (23 years ago, 15-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

| Hehe, neither had I until I took a good look at one of the trains in the Lego catalog and then saw the part on brickbay. It's a 2x4 flat piece with a 3 plate tall end part that is either a small peg, or a holder for the peg, which allows 90° (...) (23 years ago, 15-Aug-01, to lugnet.space)

|
| I made the original ship in a couple of hours in December 1999, and have heavily modified it since, but I've only recently acquired a good camera, so I couldn't take pictures of it before... I only have 2 pictures of it uploaded right now since I (...) (23 years ago, 3-Sep-01, to lugnet.space)

| Okay, yesterday I posted an article in space. The confirmation email took awhile to arrive but other than that it was fine, and I got a message that it was successfully. Then, I looked for responses today. There were none. Why you ask? Well, the (...) (23 years ago, 4-Sep-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

| Yes. Sorry about the bad quality of the pictures, but as I have no experience with taking pictures of Lego ships, I tend to make mistakes. Yes, that is a bow mounted weapon (made up of about 20 pieces or so). There's another one like it (not exactly (...) (23 years ago, 6-Sep-01, to lugnet.space)
